Ginger Kombucha + Pomegranate Mocktail
Say Hello to your new go-to mocktail for the holiday season! This is a tart and delicious mocktail, served "martini style" it is simple to make but tastes and appears so much more complex.
To be honest I am not even sure what made me combine these two in the first place but I am so glad I did! I love using kombucha in mocktails and the ginger and pomegranate seemed to go so well together! Plus a little added lime juice to keep it from being too sweet.

Kombucha in Mocktails
Let's address using kombucha in mocktails. Kombucha is not 100% free from alcohol.
Kombucha varieties found in most stores are going to contain trace amount of alcohol, all should be lower than 0.5% alcohol. Kombucha found at craft kombucha breweries and homemade might contain more.
With this knowledge I would like to address that this mocktail will not be for everyone. If you are avoiding any amount of alcohol for any reason this kombucha mocktail is not for you.
For everyone else please stick around you are going to love it!
Equipment Needed
This is a low-key mocktail all that is needed is:
- Measuring Device: Like a jigger or measuring spoons.
- Glassware: I like to serve this in a coup glass or a martini glass for a fancy feeling. You could also serve over ice in a rocks glass.
- Spoon: for a quick mix.

Ingredients
- Lime: You will want to juice half a lime to add to the drink. Fresh juice is a must, using bottled juice might make this overly tart!
- 100% Pomegranate Juice: For the pomegranate juice I have only really come across one brand to buy, the POM Wonderful brand, this juice needs to be kept refrigerated so you will find in a fridge at your grocery store. That doesn't mean there aren't other options out there that is just what I have found!
- Ginger Kombucha: With so many brands of kombucha on the market these days there is bound to be at least a few options of a ginger flavored kombucha you can use. I like to try to keep my Kombucha local if possible.
- Optional: Crystallized Ginger: For a garnish, not necessary but if you are serving these for a holiday meal or a party it is a great way to take the drink up a notch.
Instructions
Optional but highly recommended. Add the glass you are using to the freezer to chill. Use once throughly cold.
Add the fresh sqeezed lime juice, pomegranate juice, and ginger kombucha to your chilled glass. Give a stir to mix.
If you are garnishing with crystalized ginger, add the crystalized ginger to a cocktail pick before adding to the drink.
