Easy Cranberry Sangria Mocktail Recipe
It's that time of the year when you just need a really good mocktail, with all of the holiday parties and holiday food sometimes it is good to just take it easy with a pitcher of mocktails. This is the perfect choice with plenty of fruit juice and fresh fruit your body will thank you. Easy to make with just a few ingredients this os one both the adults and kids will love.
Equipment Needed
- Large pitcher: To hold all the juices and fruits.
- Sharp knife: For slicing and dicing fruits.
- Cutting board: To prepare the fruits.
Ingredients
- 100% Cranberry Juice - Using 100% juice and not cranberry cocktail juice helps this from getting too sweet which is what we want in a mock sangria.
- 100% Concord Grape Juice - I like using the concord grape juice as just a little part of the drink instead of a pre mixed cran-grape juice because it gives the right balance of cranberry over grape. Trying using other flavors of grape juice for a different twist.
- Lime, sliced
- Pear - You can really use any type of pear here although I will recommend once that isn't mushy otherwise that might dissolve right into the drink.
- Fresh cranberries - Fresh berries work best but you can also use frozen if that is what you have!
- Optional: A cranberry lime seltzer or cranberry Sprite adds a fizzy taste if you are looking for that.
Instructions
Start by pouring the cranberry juice and grape juice into a large pitcher. These juices form the flavorful base of your sangria mocktail.
Slice the orange and lime into thin rounds. I like to cut them into half moons because it makes the oranges easier to eat but you can also leave them as circles.
Dice the pear into bite-sized pieces.
Using the blunt side of a knife, carefully smash the cranberries to help them release their juices without breaking apart completely.
Add the sliced orange, lime, diced pear, and smashed cranberries to the pitcher. Gently stir everything together to mix the flavors.
Cover the pitcher and place it in the refrigerator. Allow it to chill for at least 1 hour, but for the best flavor, let it sit overnight. This resting period lets the fruits infuse the juice with their natural sweetness and tang.
Once the sangria mocktail has chilled, it’s ready to serve! Pour into glasses and, if desired, add a splash of cranberry lime seltzer or cranberry Sprite for a refreshing fizz. Garnish with the fruit from the sangria, feel free to add other garnishes like a cinnamon stick or fresh mint.
