Easy Sparkling Ginger Pear Mocktail
Using pear in a drink makes such a unique experience for the taste buds and it is the perfect flavor to serve throughout the fall and winter season. Pear nectar mixed with fizzy ginger beer feels so sophisticated and add in a cinnamon sugar rim and this is a perfect non-alcoholic drink for hosting! This best part is it is so simple to make.
Instead of making a pear syrup we are just going to find pear nectar at the store. I buy Goya brand and often find it with either the juices or in the latino section of the grocery store. The sweetness of the pear nectar is just the perfect balance of sweet when mixed with the spicy kick of the ginger beer.
While pear nectar goes great with ginger beer on its own adding in a bit of fresh lemon juice takes the flavors to the next level giving the drink a more dimensional feel.
This mocktail is a perfect choice for guests of all ages, offering a sophisticated alternative to traditional soft drinks. Great for the Thanksgiving or Christmas table, great for new year's eve, or just happy hours with friends. You are going to want to make sure you a well stocked with all of the ingredients because people are going to want more than one!
Equipment Needed
- Small plate
- Glass (for serving)
- Lemon slice
- Ice
- Stirrer or spoon (for mixing)
Ingredients
- Cinnamon Sugar - If you have some already made great use that! If not it is as simple as mixing cinnamon and sugar!
- Pear Nectar - I use Goya brand, often found in a large box. You can also use other pear juice brands that work best for you. You might also want to grab a few fresh pears for pear slices for garnish (you can also just use lemon as garnish too if you don't have pears).
- Fresh Lemon Juice - Fresh is a must for this drink, trying to use bottled lemon juice will make this drink much to tart and throw off the flavor.
- Ginger Beer - There are so many brands of ginger beer to choose from, I personally like to use fever tree brand.
Instructions
Cinnamon Sugar Rim: I prefer a 2:1 ratio of sugar to cinnamon (2 parts sugar to 1 part cinnamon). For this recipe, I use 2 tablespoons sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon, leaving extra for future use or other recipes.
Prepare the Glass: Place the cinnamon sugar on a small plate. Run a lemon slice around the rim of the glass to moisten it. Gently press the rim into the cinnamon sugar to coat it.
Assemble the Mocktail: Fill the prepared glass with ice cubes. Pour the pear nectar and lemon juice over the ice, then top with ginger beer.
Garnish and Serve: Give the drink a gentle stir to combine. Garnish with a lemon wedge or slice of pear as desired.
